Old news (Updated December 25th, 2006)
Unfortunately my zebra filly, Zetta, died on August 27th, 2006 so I
don't currently have a zebra, but I do intend to get another one
in the future.

now online!!!
Horse Show
Yea! I finally got a few pictures from the Holiday Fest
vaulting competition on here but still need to put some
pictures from the barrel fest up.. Since my last
update I attended a Nancy Stevens-Brown vaulting clinic and the
vaulting conference. Both were GREAT!
Gymnastics - updated December 25th,
2006
In order to help me with my vaulting I have started taking
gymnastics. This unfortunately meant that I had to give up
ice skating in order to have time, but it has been worth it.
I am taking classes and private lessons at Naydenov in
Vancouver. I am also taking some dance classes there.
Belly Dancing - updated May 9, 2006
One of my CMO teammates (Kristen) somehow got into taking belly
dancing classes and suggested that I join her. It sounded
interesting to I figured "Why not?". Well, after the first
class I figured out why not.... I don't seem to be able to move
one part of my body without moving some other part. Now
that I have attended the class for a few weeks I am starting to
be able to do SOME of the movements, but there are some that
still seem to elude me.
Starting last week we managed to get Beth to join us.
Actually I didn't give her much choice. I gave her a month
of classes as part of her Christmas present. (Insert evil
laugh here). Oddly enough after class she actually
admitted that she had fun.
Unfortunately I had to give up belly dancing already.
Class meets on Thursdays which is the same day as practice for
the vaulting team (Iron Mountain) that I am practicing canter
with.
Vaulting
- updated December 25th, 2006 Vaulting now has it's
own page which I created for the club that Beth and I started
for ourselves - Better Late
Than Never Vaulters.
CMO - Wildboy Lake - May 20th and
21st - pictures
This was the CMO ride that Beth, Kristen, and I have put on.
Prior to setting up for the ride Beth and I put in over 70 hours
clearing trail and didn't even come close to getting it done.
Rimrock Lake CMO On September 10th Beth and I went to
the CMO ride at Rimrock lake (never did see the lake).
While driving to it I talked to my dad on the phone and he said
that he hoped we took our long johns. I just kind of
laughed and said I didn't think they would be necessary.
If only I had known.....
On the entire drive there we passed through areas of light
rain, but nothing bad. It was fairly foggy, but we were
occasionally able to see mountains with some snow on them.
All the while that we were driving, I kept thinking that once we
got on the East side of the mountains the rain would stop.
Man did I turn out to be wrong. It was still raining a
little by the time we were supposed to go out. Shortly before
our scheduled start time we were asked if we minded if Ashley
rode with us and I said I didn't mind if "she" did.
Oops. Turned out that Ashley was a guy. Even given
that minor fault, I was happy to have him on the team. It
was really nice having someone else who could read a map!!!
On top of that he was pretty good at finding the objectives.
The day had already started out rather questionable weather
wise, but that was just the beginning. We were riding
along on our way to objective 1 and were watching for clues.
As the leader at that point, I was the first one to notice a
white patch and got to point out "Um, guys, that's snow".
Somewhere between objectives 1 and 2 we found ourselves riding
through a meadow of snow. It was really pretty, but we
were starting to realize that it was going to be rather
difficult to find white paper plates hidden amongst it. At
objective 2 (or so we thought) we were stuck looking around for
a while and I was so cold that I was thinking about just turning
around and heading back. Luckily I didn't voice this
because apparently Beth was having the same idea so we might
have ended up quitting. We finally gave up on 2 and as we
were riding along we found the real area for 2 and quickly found
the objective. The rest of the day we kept getting behind
and then catching up to Ross and Charlie's group.
Eventually we did make it back in with all 10 objectives.
Another interesting thing about the day is that Ashley's horse
is named Image. That also happens to be the name of my
horse that Beth was riding. Both horses are Arabs, are the same
color, have a white blaze, and unfortunately seem to have the
same attitude.
Here are a couple of pictures of them (still wet from all of
the rain):

They apparently didn't think that Beth needed to be in this
picture.....

There was another good picture of the horses, but I figured I
should put up a good one of Beth. Horse show On August 13th,
2005
Beth, Linda, and I took our horses (and Zetta) to an open horse
show. Click here
